Theatre made up on the spot, no script. If you've seen Whose Line Is It Anyway? or Game Changer by Dropout, that's the American, comedy-first end of it: short-form, gag-a-minute, chasing the laugh. We take a more story and theatre-driven route: scenes and characters that build on each other into something with real heart, and the comedy comes naturally out of that rather than being the point. That's where the lore in Improvlore comes from, the stories we spin up together and never tell the same way twice.

Live theatre with no script. We build the whole show in the moment, from your suggestions, then never do it again. Nobody, us included, knows exactly what's about to happen. We run a handful of different formats, each its own kind of show, all improvised on the spot, just structured differently. Browse them in the library.

A jam is our open, beginner-friendly session where you get to play, not just watch. And yes, that's exactly who it's for: most people who come to a jam have never been on a stage. We guide you through everything step by step, and you don't need any preparation, experience, or special skills. Bring your stage fright with you; you'll be in good company.

A deeper, more hands-on take on improv, run over 9 to 12 hours. You learn by doing, at a pace that's kind to first-timers, in a guided room where it's safe to try. Start with Improv 101 if you're new, then go as deep as you like. See what we offer in the library.

No two improv shows are ever the same. Whatever you see happens once and is gone, built live from the room you're in that night. You're also supporting live theatre and the people making it up in front of you. Whether it soars or it wobbles, you'll have watched something that existed for one evening only, and you helped make it.

Only if you want to. Taking part is always optional. At a show you can simply sit back and watch; if we ever invite suggestions or volunteers, you're free to pass and no one will single you out. Our jams (like Make Friends with the Stage) are all about playing on stage, but even there you're guided in gently and never pushed.

Often very. Sometimes a scene falls apart, and honestly that's part of the fun, you're watching people catch something out of thin air without a net. That risk is the whole appeal: when it lands, it lands like nothing scripted can.

Absolutely, plenty of people do. A lot of folks come alone and leave having made friends. Meeting new people is half the fun of it, and the room is a warm one.

All our events are ticketed. Walk-ins are usually possible, but we do sell out, so we'd really recommend booking ahead, it secures your spot, and it helps us gauge interest and plan the night. Grab a ticket →

Tickets can't be reused for another date, but they're easy to pass on: sell or give yours to a friend, or let us know and if we have walk-ins on the night we can try to sell it for you. For the full policy, see our refunds page.

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Our jams and sessions run around two hours. Each event page lists the exact start time and any specifics.

Our home is Underline Center in Indiranagar, where we've been the resident improv act since they opened. We also play other rooms around the city now and then, so always check the venue on the specific event. Each event page has a map link, and most of our venues have drinking water, restrooms, and street parking nearby.

We aim to keep our shows and jams broadly PG-13 and family-friendly. Improv is live and unscripted, so the odd adult theme or bit of strong language can come up, but that's the spirit we play in. No alcohol. Food and beverages are sometimes available, but it depends on the event and venue, so check the specific event if that matters to you.

We ask everyone to keep phones away, at shows, jams, and workshops alike, so we can all be fully present with one another. It's a big part of what makes the room feel alive.

Yes, we want our events to be as welcoming and accessible as possible. If you have any access needs, seating, mobility, sensory, or anything else, let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

A weekly experimental unscripted improv show. Every Friday, 9 PM.

Each week a director comes in with a concept. Could be a "format", a theme, some idea they've been chewing on. We improvise the whole show around it.

You are the audience, and even though we come in with a "format", the show is built on your suggestions and prompts. A lot of the games need audience up on stage too. (If you're looking for more, come to our jams.)

All our shows are different, no two are ever the same, and this one especially. You're also supporting live theatre and the people making it up in front of you. Whether it lands or falls apart, you'll have seen something that happened once.

An after-work hang where people come together to play improv games and exercises in pairs and groups. Expect playful activities around storytelling, spontaneity, creativity, and connection.

Anyone who enjoys playful experiences, meeting new people, and exploring creativity. No theatre, improv, or performance experience required.

Every session has a different theme, so you'll always encounter new games, ideas, and ways to play. Even when an exercise returns, the people, stories, and discoveries are never the same, because everything is created in the moment.

An after-work hang where people come together to explore improvisation on stage. Our directors and experienced cast members guide the scenes, helping you build confidence, spontaneity, and storytelling instincts in a supportive environment.

Each session presents different scene types, scenarios, characters, and prompts to play with, all of it unscripted, and made up on the spot. Each scene is unique, and each Make Friends with the Stage session is unique. Come once, or come for every session, it'll be different each time.
